I have a Compaq 500b MT and I think I need a driver for my NIC

You may have seen the realtek drivers on this page http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/customize_oem_tgz.php and if those aren't compatible then you would have to compile one.

What sort of CPU do you have in the system? Just wondering if the system would run ESXi 4.x.

But on this page I don't see a driver for the Realtek 8136.
Please can you explain me, what driver I need to run the ESX Server?

In the System is an Pentium Dual-Core E5300 2.6 GHz

If there's nothing around then you either have to compile a driver or add a compatible NIC.
